Preparation of the meeting of the Coordination Council of the European Voluntary Civil Protection Forum (EVCPF)

The next meeting of the Coordination Council of EVCPF was held on 13. December 2011, in Budapest. The meeting was headed by the Hungarian Civil Protection Association (MPVSZ) and the President of the EVCPF. Participants: representatives of the English, Croatian, Austrian, Swedish and Slovak member organizations.


At the meeting the members of the CC discussed the final draft of the Terms of Reference and Memorandum of Understanding. The accepted final draft has been submitted to the next-year Conference for approval. On 15. November, the President of MPVSZ discussed, with Mrs. Moya Wood-Heath, Chief Adviser for Emergencies of the British Red Cross/Civil Protection, who is also the emergency planning assignee of the EU, furthermore with Mr. Martin Annis, the Emergency Planning Chief Officer of the British Red Cross, the British comments on the Terms of Reference and Memorandum of Understanding. The British guests made several valuable proposals at the extraordinarily useful meeting. On the Hungarian side, Dr. Imre Ország the Vice-President of MPVSZ and chief lieutenant Dr. Zsolt Dalnoki, head of the branch office of Szigetvar were present at the meeting. In addition to the discussion of the Terms of Reference and Memorandum of Understanding, the President of the EVCPF called Mrs. Moya Wood to render support and help to the organization of the visit to the EU of the delegation of the Presidency of the EVCPF. A possible moral and financial support of the EU would be discussed at this meeting with the EU ECHO Directorate General, for the EVCPF. The friendly working meeting ended with a supper.
